The conference will be held in Sydney at the Shangri-La Hotel from April 5-6.
COAL21 brings together Australian federal and state governments, the coal and electricity industries and key research organisations in a unique collaborative effort aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions arising from the use of coal in Australia.
Australian and international experts will speak on the latest developments in CO2 capture and storage; advanced technologies for power generation including coal gasification (IGCC), Ultra Clean Coal, Oxy-fuel combustion, and brown coal dewatering; innovative policies to support RD&D and the deployment of breakthrough technologies; and cutting edge RD&D programs aimed at transforming the way Australia produces and uses energy.
Speakers will be drawn from the International Energy Agency, CO2CRC, Queensland Centre for Low Emissions Technology, US Department of Energy, The Battelle Institute, CSIRO, CRC for Coal in Sustainable Development, Coal and electricity industries, CRC for Clean Power from Lignite, and Clean Coal Utilisation Japan.
